Orrong Cr

This is a set of two townhouses that are situated on the corner of Orrong Crescent and Beresford Street in Caulfield North. This project was quite a challenging one, as the brief was to fit two, two-bedroom units with double garages on a rather small and asymmetrical corner site.  When faced with a challenge like this it can be difficult to give a building form, as there is no superfluous space on the site.  By doing small things like defining the line of the staircase and taking glazing up two full stories we are able to bring in light and a uniqueness of form that could otherwise be lost.  The awnings and other architectural elements are used to break up the building form with bold dark lines.
